How To Become Really Good At What You Do
As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”
The greatest sales man in the world didn’t become greatest overnight. He had to go through hundreds of trials and errors to get where he is today. He tried and tested ten methods before one finally worked and applied that to his strategy then again he tried ten and one them worked. Now he has two methods working for him. After doing this over and over again he has ten of them that are really successful. Then he applies those ten methods every single time and that’s those ten methods that make him the greatest sales man.
Most people don’t even get to testing 10 methods and they expect to become great. It does not work that way. You need to test and test your materials. No matter what field you are in, its very unlikely to hit the jackpot on the very first attempt unless you are in a casino and you get super lucky. Stick to what works and get rid of what does not. Nobody starts at the top or becomes great overnight.
Most people get frustrated and give up before they even get to testing ten methods and they start saying it does not work, I suck at it blah blah blah. Start testing material, that is a good thing, do it over and over again until you find the winner. First it will not work out but that’s okay, finally you will work out what does and what does not work.
Although it is necessary to go through the trial and error process, it normally tends to be very lengthy and frustrating to many people. What would be more suitable is to find someone who has already gone through the process and done it successfully and learn from them. This will shorten the learning curve and save you from lots of frustration and time as well.
If you are in the online marketing space and want to become an expert at what you do, you can significantly reduce your learning curve by following the expert in your field.
